Let me start off by saying how grateful I am to be elected your 2022\2023 Tennessee Sheriffs’ Association President. It is an honor to have the support of 94 other Sheriffs from the great State of Tennessee. I am a second generation Law Enforcement Officer and have been serving my community for nearly 33 years. During my time in Law Enforcement I have seen tremendous change for the good as well as the bad. With all these changes we must adapt to assure our citizens of the state are getting the best Law Enforcement that they deserve. The way this is accomplished is to be out in front as an organization in all aspects that affect us daily such as training, technology, legislation, education, and community involvement.
The Tennessee Sheriffs Association has been in existence for over 50 years. I am proud to say that I have been an active member for several years and I have witnessed how the Association has been a valuable resource to all the Sheriffs of the state. There has been many great Sheriffs come and go that have made the association what it is today. Collectively we must continue to build and grow this association so it can continue to be a vital resource not only to our Sheriffs but to all the citizens of the State.
The success of this Association rests entirely on the shoulders of all 95 sheriffs. We must all stay engaged and to be involved in all aspects of the issues that affect our profession. We have the attention of all the stakeholders in the State and we must stay united so that we continue to have the confidence and trust that we have worked so hard to obtain over the last 50 years. We owe this to all the citizens of our counties.
We must continue to be supportive of our Legislative Team who are working hard every day to be a strong voice for each and every one of us at the State Legislature. With the tremendous help from all of our Sheriffs we will continue to work diligently through legislation to enhance the working conditions of all of our members and the citizens that we serve. We have and will continue to do this by working hard and taking advantage of the fact that the Tennessee Sheriffs have statewide respect and influence. Our Association will be successful and accomplish great things.
Again, I am looking forward to serving you, working with each of you and hearing all your opinions and input. If there is anything I can assist you with, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Respectfully,
Robert C. Bryan
